Why shop at Blue Spur Milk & Honey?

At Blue Spur Milk and Honey, we believe the little things can make everyday life feel more special. That's why we carefully select products that bring beauty, comfort, and practicality into your home and daily rituals.

As a proudly New Zealand owned business, we're passionate about offering thoughtfully chosen pieces that we would happily welcome into our own homes. Whether you're treating yourself or choosing a meaningful gift, we want every order to feel like a lovely discovery.

Are your products eco-friendly?

Thoughtful living is at the heart of what we do. When making products for our collection, we make quality items that are designed to be enjoyed. Many of our products last for a long time.

The goat's milk, bees wax, honey and medicinal plants in our products are made with raw materials from our own farm. All our products are made with environmentally conscious, sustainable materials and no plastic is used.

Are your packaging materials recyclable?

Yes, we use recyclable packaging materials to help reduce waste and encourage more mindful consumption. Our lip balm, deodorant, and salve containers are made from paperboard and are home compostable. All Blue Spur Milk and Honey packaging for postage is also home compostable.

We believe that thoughtful choices extend beyond the products themselves, so we're always looking for ways to improve our packaging and lessen our environmental impact. We also encourage our customers to compost, reuse or recycle packaging whenever they can.

Where are your products made?

Our products are made right here on our farm on the West Coast of New Zealand. Other raw materials are ethically sourced from trusted suppliers in New Zealand.

Here at Blue Spur Milk and Honey, we choose our materials for their quality and use organic products where possible.

Soap FAQs

Can I use this bar for both my hair and my skin?

Yes. This bar is made to work as a soap and a shampoo bar in one, so you can use it head to toe. Lather it in your hands or straight onto wet hair, then rinse thoroughly. Hair may feel slightly different at first, and some people need a short detox period as their hair adjusts away from liquid shampoo. This settles down after a few washes.

How long does a bar usually last?

It's a tricky one to pin down exactly, since everyone uses their bar a little differently. Curing and drying the bar between uses on a draining soap dish helps it last longer. The older the soap, the longer it lasts, since it firms up over time.

Is this soap suitable for sensitive or dry skin?

Yes, this is one of the main reasons people choose it. Goat's milk is naturally gentle and moisturising, and it's good for dry, sensitive or acne-prone skin. The Calendula (scent-free) variant is a good option for very sensitive skin or babies over the recommended age.

Why does the colour or pattern vary a little between bars?

Because each batch is handmade in small quantities on the farm, not mass produced. Natural variation in the goat's milk and honey colour affects the final look, but every bar is still made to the same recipe and quality.

Is the packaging eco-friendly?

Yes. The packaging is home compostable, not just recyclable. There are no plastic bottles needed since it replaces liquid soap and shampoo, and the wrapping can go straight into your compost once you're done with it.

Can I use this soap on my children?

Many customers do, though every child's skin is different. The Calendula (scent-free) variant is the gentlest option for young or sensitive skin. As with any new product, patch test first if your child has known skin sensitivities.
